How art impacts on my life

Being a child of a young age, my parents had control over my whole life: what I do, how I do it, where I do it etc.. Even thought I hated the fact that my life was fully controlled, I am now very thankful with what I ended up achieving. As a child, aged 7, I had a common interest in drawing, painting, sketching and much more (similarly to every other child at that age), although that interest stayed with me for much longer. Noticing the hidden talent come out,Taking it on a step further, my parents provided me with the opportunity to attend an Art school in Dubai. That is where my whole journey began.

Even though the art school was located in Dubai, the education was in Russian. A common Russian art school consists of 4 years of education. The most important aspect of the education is the ability to produce observational drawings. You do not need to be a skilled artist to reproduce a drawing copied from google. Yet you do need to be a skilled artist to reproduce a similar subject, with the same quality, from a real life picture... the outside world. Although I noticed that a lot of people I met do not see the 'big' difference between the two.

I must admit that attending art school was not something I desperately wanted to do. Having to go after school, 3 times a week for 2-3 hours was challenging especially at my early teenage years. Of course there were days where I completely declined to go yet I was forced to go, which taught me an important lesson in life: You can't always get what you want. Now, being surrounded by my successful art projects and planning on combining my future with art, I realized that to achieve something, we need to get out of our comfort zones and face the reality instead of hiding behind the 4 walls.

Art does not have an ending. There was never a time an Artist could say 'I'm done'. Why? simply because no one knows when to stop. There is no time limit to perfection. Which in some way means that with art, boredom will not be an issue. Yes, painting can be boring and time consuming but yet again, can you achieve a Diploma with sitting on the couch and watching Netflix? No you can't. Furthermore, I noticed that on some occasions the way I view things is different from non-artistic people. In such way that instead of noticing the object itself, I notice the colours, shape, shades etc.. Of course we all have different interests but Art plays a huge role in our surroundings.. The buildings surrounding us, the room we are located in, the clothes we wear and much more, some of which we don't notice on a daily notice.
